April Marocco earned her Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Pittsburgh before moving on to attain her Master in Professional Counseling from Carlow University. She has extensive experience and training in working with children, adolescents and families in clinical, school and community settings. April’s background in counseling includes helping clients with anxiety, depression, phobias, crisis support, suicidal thinking, self-harm, self esteem, anger, parenting skills, communication, grief, relationship conflict, bullying, abuse, and special needs. April also has experience in family and couple counseling, particularly in areas of rebuilding trust and improving communication.
April has been a member of Grace since 2007. She is committed to integrating faith-based approaches with counseling to bring clients hope and healing.
Michael Santoro earned his Bachelor Degree in Youth Studies, Bible and Christian Education from the University of Valley Forge. After working as a youth pastor for five years, Michael and his wife, Carrie became Counselor Parents at George Junior Republic during which time he earned his Master in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. The majority of Michael’s experience comes from working with adolescents who are adjudicated delinquent or dependent. He currently supervises a Special Needs Unit where the residents have varied and multiple mental health diagnoses. He also has experience with family therapy, crisis counseling, anger management, conflict resolution, oppositional and defiance behaviors.
Michael is a member of Hermitage Assembly of God. He combines psychology and faith to help individuals, couples and families receive holistic healing.
Helene Welling brings a wealth of diverse experience to her work as a counselor at Grace. Her focus is on women’s issues such as anxiety, depression, infertility, self-esteem and grief counseling. Helene is dedicated to helping her clients obtain their self-confidence and self-worth by working through whatever obstacles may be holding them back in life. Her previous professional experiences include working with terminally ill patients, underprivileged teenagers, women and children. Helene’s passion is caring for and helping others, and she is extremely dedicated to helping individuals and families who have dealt with traumatic circumstances.
Helene graduated from LaRoche College with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and obtained her Master Degree in Counseling from Waynesburg University. Helene is also a Parent Recruiter for Treatment Foster Care at Pressley Ridge working with children and families from very diverse backgrounds.
Helene was born and raised in Pittsburgh and has been a member of Grace since 2010. She is a wife and a mother of five beautiful children. Helene has been a foster parent, has adopted and cares deeply about her clients and does so with compassion, patience and understanding.
Jyn Woods earned her Bachelor Degree in Human Services from Carson-Newman University located in Jefferson City, TN with an emphasis in Gerontology and Pre-Med. She went on to study Professional Counseling at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA where she received her Master of Art with a minor in Neuropsychology and Human Sexuality. Jyn’s passion for the elderly led her to work as a social worker in senior care. In 2013, Jyn opened her private counseling practice and began consulting for Keystone Neuro Rehab, a facility for those with traumatic brain injuries. She has assisted clients with anxiety, depression, Bipolar Disorder, infidelity, sexual abuse, post-concussion syndrome, traumatic brain injury and sexual addiction.
Grace Counseling Administrators:
Jackie Eppler is the Care Director at Grace and oversees the Grace Care Network and Grace Counseling Services working closely with the campus pastor, professional counselors and other care providers at Grace to ensure the care needs of our congregation and community are being met. She facilitates GriefShare, a support group for those dealing with loss and also serves as a leader and care giver in the One-on-One Care ministry.
Jackie earned a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Thiel College and a Master in Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Health Services with a focus in areas of mental health and child abuse and neglect. Professional experience includes specialized foster care, corrections, community mental health services and administration with emphasis in crisis intervention and seriously mentally ill both institutionalized and in the community, and suicide awareness and prevention.
Jackie believes that anyone can benefit from having someone to talk to during difficult times and that no one should feel they are alone in their struggles. Her passion is helping people overcome hardships and working with people who are deeply hurt and looking to find hope in very hopeless situations.
A Somerset County native, she has lived in Minnesota and California. Jackie, her husband and three children have been a part of Grace since 2010 and member of the Cranberry community since 2000.
Lisa is a California native and has lived throughout the Mid West with her 3 children. They have called Pittsburgh home since 2005 and are excited and humbled to be new members at Grace. Lisa is the Care Network Administrative Assistant and as such provides administrative oversight to the Grace Care Network and Grace Counseling Services. She has previous sales and marketing experience with the historic Omni William Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh and worked on staff at North Way Christian Community as an Event Planner/Communications and Marketing Coordinator where she served the Kids & Student Ministries. Lisa supported the CEO at Omni Prepaid as an Executive Administrator, assisted a Pediatric Medical Group as a Front and Back Office Medical Assistant in California and even has a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising which was earned at FIDM in Los Angeles, CA. Her heart for children and volunteer services include participating with Children’s Hospital, Pine Valley Camp, Urban Impact, and Light of Life and now as she partners closely in our new Special Needs Ministry at Grace.
Pastor Bob Zonts earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Logistics, with an emphasis in Marketing from Penn State University before moving on to attain his Master of Arts in Human Services: Marriage and Family Counseling, from Liberty University. Bob has 16 years of corporate/business ministry experience and has been serving in Christian pastoral ministry since 2000. Previous experience includes hospital diagnostic sales for a large healthcare corporation, as well as entrepreneur (one of the founders and Vice President of Cornerstone Enterprises, Inc.) Bob had the privilege of serving as one of the pastors at North Way Christian Community in Wexford, PA, and since July 2007, Bob is honored to be serving as one of the pastors here at Grace Community Church. Along with providing pastoral counseling, Bob provides premarital counseling as part of overseeing the wedding process at Grace, in addition to marriage counseling. Bob utilizes Hope-Focused Marriage Counseling (Brief Therapy) which is an evidence-based, integrated approach consisting first of a couple-specific assessment, and then psychology and empathetic, biblical Christianity, based on level of principle.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Bob and his family have lived in West Virginia, Colorado, and then returned to Pennsylvania in 1995. He enjoys time with their multiple dogs, and the two horses which reside in their stables. As such, Bob is a Rancher “wannabe”, loves the Rocky Mountains, Penn State, WVU (because of his daughter!), sports, and connecting over coffee and high goo-factor chocolate peanut butter desserts…with reddi whip! He and his wife, Cindy, are parents to a beautiful adult daughter.
